Privacy

This notice is for the Android waitlist at leafreading.club. The Leaf app has its own, at app.leafreading.club/legal/privacy. This page is short because this site holds very little.

Who is responsible

Leaf is operated by co-founders Madesh Thevar and Harsh Patel. We are responsible for the personal information collected through this waitlist. Mail reaches 1156 Highway 28, Jasper, TN 37347. For privacy questions or requests, write to support@leafreading.club. That address is read by us.

What we collect

When you apply, we store:

• Your email address, because you typed it.
• The date and time you submitted the form.
• A short source tag ("leafreading.club"), so we know which page the address came from.
• The consent line shown on the form that day, so we can show how you agreed to hear from us.
• Which one you are (reader, student, creator, club organizer, or author), because you picked it.
• Where you will use Leaf (Android for new signups; earlier signups may list iOS).
• What you are reading, if you typed a book.

No name, no password, no payment, no profile, no phone, no location. We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, or session recording. Typefaces and scripts are served from this domain.

Why, and on what basis

We use the address for one thing: to email you when Leaf is available on Android, and rarely before that if there is something you need to know about the list itself. The lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. That is GDPR Article 6(1)(a), and express consent under Canada's CASL. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to support@leafreading.club. That costs you nothing.

Your address is never sold, rented, traded, or given to advertisers.

How long we keep it

Up to one year from the day you join, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. A request is normally done the same day, and always within 30 days.

Who else sees a request

• Supabase. Holds the list and receives the form. Servers are in the United States, under Supabase's processing terms and standard contractual clauses.
• Vercel. Serves this site and keeps ordinary short-lived request logs, as every host does.
• Firebase Hosting (Google). A fallback host. Same kind of short-lived logs if a request is served from there.

There is no email marketing platform behind this yet.

Cookies

This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If you dismiss the notice, this browser may remember that choice in localStorage on this device only. Hosts keep ordinary request logs. The full list is on the cookie policy. You do not need to accept optional cookies, because there are none.

Age

The waitlist is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect an email from anyone under 13. If one is on the list, write and it comes off.

Your rights

If UK, EU, or Canadian privacy law applies to you, you can ask to see what is held, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to what is done with it, receive it in a portable form, or withdraw consent. Email support@leafreading.club and say which. No form, no account, no reason required.

If California law applies to you, Leaf does not sell your information and does not share it for cross-context advertising. The same email covers a request to know or delete.

You can complain to your data protection authority. In Canada that is the OPC, in the UK the ICO.

Mail we send

When we write, the message will say who it is from, why you are getting it, and how to stop. The mailing address is 1156 Highway 28, Jasper, TN 37347. Reply to that mail, or write support@leafreading.club, and you are off the list. Before we send commercial email we will identify Leaf and include a working way to unsubscribe, as CASL requires.

Changes

If this changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top changes and anyone already on the list is told before it takes effect.
